I’ve got a portfolio update! :D
I fell in love with Krysta Rodriguez and her performance in The Addams Family Broadway Musical a few months ago… and I thought it would be fun to explore my own take on the Addams Family… and well… here it is! haha xD
This truly was a learning experience for me because I can clearly see how much I need to improve and how far away I am from where I want to be.. However I’m glad I pushed myself to go outside my comfort zone! It was well worth it.
Lastly, I wanna thank my amazing teachers/mentors who walked me through this process these past few months! I owe all I’ve learned to them <3
I will be posting Part 2 of the portfolio shortly so stay tuned!
OR you can check it out at LissyMarlin.com if you want :)
Thank you guys <3
OKAY!! SO I’ve gotten a couple asks about expressions. This is so sloppy and hastily done that I hope you can read my writing and that any of it makes sense?? FIRST OF ALL THIS IS NOT A GUIDELINE It is me giving to you some of my knowledge about how I do expressions. THERE IS NO FORMULA TO IT. EXAGGERATE. EXPERIMENT. Look in the mirror, play with your face, make silly expressions! It’s fun, and you learn a lot through observation. SO PLEASE THIS IS PROBABLY VERY INACCURATE and I’m betting I’m missing some very important points, BUT HERE YOU GO. I sincerely hope I have helped you through your block!!
Oh, Elsa. What are we going to do with you.
Frozen is purportedly set in the 1830’s-40’s, but I’ve been obsessed with finding a style that could marry her coronation gown with her ice gown more seamlessly; the open robes you see during the Regency era, including those being worn by Scandinavian royalty at the time, seemed a particularly apt analog for her… weird underarm-cape. Thing. You also see her mom wearing something very similar for something like ten years, so it’s not a huge stretch to think it could be a popular look in Arendelle. THAT’S MY EXCUSE.
I initially designed this for her coronation, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to explore how that same silhouette might work with her ice gown as well. Someday, theoretically, I would love to do a more literally iced-up version of her gown, but I figured the alternate colour way would be a nice middle ground to strike.
I saw a hot lady at a grocery store, kinda trying to remember what she looked like
Black people are a small minority in Finland and every time you see one chances are they’re really well dressed
